# Setup Guide: How to configure Claimlane account for Business Central Integration

### Before you start <a href="#h_51c7e299e2" id="h_51c7e299e2"></a>

Before you can start using Claimlane Integration, you need to have a Claimlane account. If you don't have one yet, ask your contact in Claimlane to set it up for you.

Once you have your Claimlane account, you'll need to generate an API key to connect your account to Business Central. You can request one through your Claimlane contact.

### Step 1: Select your data source <a href="#h_51c7e299e2" id="h_51c7e299e2"></a>

From the Claimlane inbox, click the four squares icon at the top.\
Go to Data Management and select your data source.

### Step 2: Create Internal Tags <a href="#h_6ca39af142" id="h_6ca39af142"></a>

In the left-hand menu, go to General Tags and then click Internal Tags.\
Here you need to create two tags: Return Reason and Claim Reason. These 2 tags are required for the integration to work.

Set a technical label, for example, returnReason and claimReason, make sure to remember them, they need to be the exact same in BC side.

### Step 3: Configure your tags <a href="#h_182d1feadb" id="h_182d1feadb"></a>

Set up your tags using the following configuration:

Tag locations

* Scope: *Product*
* Channel: *B2B*

Tag type options

* Select tag type: *Single select*
* Required/Optional: *Required*

### Step 4: Add Claim Reason options <a href="#h_5e307d98a1" id="h_5e307d98a1"></a>

Click Manage Options and add the following values:

1. Product claim (technical label: `01`)
2. Electronic claim (technical label: `02`)
3. Damaged packaging (technical label: `03`)
4. Product not as expected (technical label: `04`)
5. Product incomplete (technical label: `05`)
6. Product not compliant (technical label: `06`)
7. Product recall (technical label: `07`)
8. Other (technical label: `08`)
9. Missing quantity (technical label: `09`)

### Step 5: Add Return Reason options <a href="#h_06ad0fcd22" id="h_06ad0fcd22"></a>

Click Manage Options and add the following values:

1. Packing mistake (warehouse) (technical label: `11`)
2. Delayed style (technical label: `12`)
3. Order entry mistake (technical label: `13`)
4. End of cooperation (technical label: `14`)

### Optional: Add a Price Reduction tag <a href="#h_e2399bfb2e" id="h_e2399bfb2e"></a>

If you offer discounts, you can create a third tag called Price Reduction.\

Tag locations

* Scope: *Product*
* Channel: *B2B*

Tag type options

* Select tag type: *Single select*
* Required/Optional: *Optional*

Click Manage Options and add your discount values.\
The technical label should be the number only (without `%`).

Examples:

* 10% (technical label: `10`)
* 20% (technical label: `20`)
* 25% (technical label: `25`)

### Step 6: Set up Request Type Rules <a href="#h_51af771896" id="h_51af771896"></a>

Once your internal tags are created, go back to the left-hand menu and open Request Type Rules.

Click Add Request Type Rule and create one for Claims and one for Returns.

* For Claims: open the rule and enable your Claim Reason tag.

* For Returns: open the rule and enable your Return Reason tag.

### Step 7: Configure Product Data Blueprint <a href="#h_5c6d519a19" id="h_5c6d519a19"></a>

In the left-hand menu, go to Product Data → Product Upload and Data Blueprint.\

1. Create a Product Data Blueprint by adding the fields you want to use for mapping products.\
   Examples: *Item*, *Color*, *Size*.
2. Assign a Technical Label to each field (this has to match the tag used for setup in Business Central).

The data blueprint is what the user sees in the frontend when selecting which item to return or claim.

### Step 8: Configure Ticket Statuses <a href="#h_c1afa00b05" id="h_c1afa00b05"></a>

Go back to the Claimlane inbox and click the gear icon to open the Status Configuration menu.

We recommend setting up statuses like this:

But minumum you need 4:

* Ready for BC
* In Progress
* Error in BC
* Done

⚠️ Important: Make sure to note down the ID for each status.\
These IDs will be required later in your Business Central configuration to control how tickets are routed or moved.\

### Step 9: Enable Invoice Data Sync (Optional) <a href="#h_060f074b41" id="h_060f074b41"></a>

If you want to sync Claimlane with invoice data, ensure that the Invoice Data module is activated.

To find it click settings on Clamlane's inbox.\

Make sure to enable invoice data for both Claim and Return.

These are all the configurations required on the Claimlane side to prepare your account for integration with Business Central.

Once complete, you’ll be ready to continue the setup directly in Business Central to ensure both systems work seamlessly together.
