# How to Create Tags (B2C)

### 1. Access Your Portal Settings <a href="#h_5f6c0f2184" id="h_5f6c0f2184"></a>

From your Inbox in Claimlane, click Settings at the bottom-left corner.

### 2. Open Your Portal’s Data Source <a href="#h_ae4ce730b3" id="h_ae4ce730b3"></a>

In the left menu, go to Self Service Portal, then select Data Source under your preferred portal.

### 3. Select or Create a Data Source <a href="#h_d7edc0320e" id="h_d7edc0320e"></a>

Choose an existing data source or create a new one if you don’t have one yet.

### 4. Go to General Tags <a href="#h_3e3051fac9" id="h_3e3051fac9"></a>

In the left menu, open the General Tags tab.

### 5. Create or Edit a Tag <a href="#h_3950c522ac" id="h_3950c522ac"></a>

Click Create Tag or edit an existing one.

### 6. Configure Your Tag <a href="#h_1827ca7834" id="h_1827ca7834"></a>

In the Edit Tag view, you’ll see the following fields:

* Tag name: Use a clear, descriptive name to keep things organized.
* Scope: Choose Product.
* Channel: Choose B2C.
* Tag type: Choose one of the following:
  * Single select – Customers choose one option from a dropdown list.
  * Multi select – Customers can choose multiple options from a dropdown list.
  * Input – A single line of free text.
  * Multi-line input – Multiple lines of free text.

Note:\
If you select Single select or Multi select, click Manage Options and add the choices that should appear in the dropdown for customers.

* Required: Customers must fill this field to continue.
* Optional: Customers can skip this field and continue.

When you’re done, click Done at the bottom.

### 7. Add Tags to a Request Type Rule <a href="#h_5524159241" id="h_5524159241"></a>

Go to the Request Type Rules tab, then select or create your desired request type rule. Enable the flow tags you want to use.

### 8. Final Checks <a href="#h_e8c4acfa97" id="h_e8c4acfa97"></a>

We’re almost done, just a few checks to make sure everything is set up correctly.

1. Go back to Self Service Portal → Portal Settings → Start Screen.
2. Scroll down to Data Source and confirm the correct data source is selected.

1. Finally, open the flow where your tags should appear and confirm the correct type is selected.
