2. **Understand What Groups Represent**\
   Groups can represent different segments of your organization, such as:

   * Region (EU)
   * *Department (Warehouse)*
   * Return Handling (Responsibility)

   For example, a *Warehouse Manager* might be part of a group that can **view** tickets but not **edit** them.

5. **Assign Members to Groups**\
   In this section, you can link users to the groups you created earlier.\
   This defines how the system identifies who belongs to each group, like a members list for each team.

6. **Define Permissions**\
   Next, set up what each group can do.\
   Here you decide which actions are allowed — for example, viewing, editing, or managing tickets.

7. **Use Groups in Your Inbox**\
   Go to your **Ticket Inbox**, and you’ll find a **Default Group** dropdown.\
   This allows you to switch between inboxes for different groups — making it easy to manage tickets by team or region.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://claimlane-docs.gitbook.io/claimlane-docs/troubleshooting-and-faqs/how-to-create-groups-manage-them-and-add-members-to-groups.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
